Cloudy start, brighter later Best sunshine in west seiten=4 abk=focus
Thursday
Plenty of cloud around this morning over much of England and Scotland. There is a risk of some outbreaks of drizzle, especially close to the east coast at first. For Ireland, western Scotland and western Wales as well as southwest England it should be brighter with good spells of sunshine, and dry too. Slowly through the morning the cloud will be breaking from the west with sunshine coming through over more of western England. Showers break out in the afternoon over Scotland, some of them heavy with a risk of thunder. A cool day on eastern coasts at 16C, nearer 24C in western parts of Wales.
Thursday night
Heavy showers over much of central and eastern Scotland this evening. These slowly fading during the night. For most other places it will be dry, although cloud is going to be increasing again, encroaching from the North Sea and pushing westwards. Skies should be clearer over Wales and southwest England as well as parts of Ireland. Turning misty. Lows near 7 to 12C.
Friday
Probably less in the way of low cloud on Friday morning, although eastern coasts could still see some. Generally it will be a brighter start to the day for all places. Good spells of sunshine coming through, and feeling warmer too. By the afternoon see breezes will be developing on coasts, making the beaches feel cooler, especially the south. Most places will be dry with plenty of sunshine, although thundery showers may trigger over the hills of Scotland. Temperatures at 17C on eastern coasts, but 25C in southern England.
Saturday
The low cloud may return once again Saturday morning, mostly affecting the east of Scotland and England. It should get burnt back to eastern coasts as the morning progresses. Most areas then fine, very warm and sunny again, although in the afternoon some showers could be triggered over Scotland. We are also closely watching an area of thundery rain which may get perilously close to the coasts of East Anglia. Highs near 18 to 26C.
