Wednesday
A gradual deterioration in conditions for most of England and Wales during the course of today. This morning starts mainly dry for much of central and southern England. A band of rain will be spreading southwards through northern England, with one or two heavier bursts associated with it. Further rain is going to be moving into Wales and southwest England. As the morning progresses this rain will be making tracks eastwards, with most of England and Wales experiencing rain this afternoon, only the far southeast escaping. For Ireland there will be some cloud and rain through many areas, heavy at times in the north. For Scotland morning rain will be in the south, but this should clear away, and then all areas will join central and northern districts in a dry day with some sunny spells. Temperatures at 10C in northern Scotland, nearer 23C over parts of southeast England.

Wednesday night
Cloud and rain this evening extending through central parts of Ireland and northern England, some of it heavy at times. Rain too could affect parts of East Anglia and the northern Midlands as well as north Wales. Little change in these areas. For the far south of Ireland and southwest England rain will be moving in later in the night, whilst most of southern England is dry. Northern Ireland and Scotland should have an essentially dry night with broken cloud, and some sunny spells coming through. Lows of 5 to 11C.

Thursday
Thursday morning starts wet for most of western England, Wales, Ireland and northern England, some heavy periods of rain in the west. Little change through the afternoon over much of England, where it will be wet, especially in the north. Further rain to come for much of Wales, but the far south of England should be drier in broken cloud. Rain and cloud pushing back into southern Scotland, but central and northern areas should stay dry. Highs at 11C in northern Scotland, perhaps 21C in the far south of England.

Friday
Heavy rain for much of eastern Scotland and eastern England on Friday morning, This clearing to heavy showers for much of England, Wales and Ireland. There is a risk of some thunderstorms too. Rain and cloud continue to affect central and eastern Scotland during the day, but the far north of Scotland should stay dry. It may be drier too over parts of Sussex and Kent, with sunny spells here. A wind day in Scotland. Temperatures at 21C in southern England, 12C in northern Scotland.
