Thursday
Low pressure is going to be dominating the weather of the southern UK and Ireland during the course of today. An unsettled day to come over most of England, Wales and Ireland. There will be some heavy bursts of thundery rain affecting much of Wales, southern and southwestern England today. Showers through the Midlands and eastern England turning more persistent and heavier this afternoon. At the same time the southwest should turn drier, although still with some showers. For northern England the day stays cloudy with heavy rain and a risk of flooding. Little change is expected here during the day. Higher pressure to the northwest of Scotland should bring drier weather here with some sunny spells in the far north. To the south it will be cloudier with a risk of some rain here. Temperatures at a cold 8C over parts of northern England, nearer 20C in parts of the southeast.
Thursday night
Some very heavy rain affecting parts of eastern Ireland, central and north Wales, the Midlands and northern England tonight, with some heavy bursts of rain for East Anglia too. Scattered thundery showers along southern coasts, but for much of southern England it should stay dry. Southern parts of Scotland are in for a damp night with rain throughout. Central and northern Scotland should be drier, high pressure dominating here and becoming dry too. Temperatures down to 11C in southwest England, 6C in northern Scotland.
Friday
Cloud and rain again affecting much of northern England, central Ireland and Wales on Friday, bringing a further risk of flooding to some places. Heavy, thundery showers affecting southwest England and parts of the southern Midlands and central southern England, with the showers more scattered at first over the southeast, but becoming heavier later. Southern Scotland may have some more heavy rain, whilst central and northern Scotland should be drier with sunny spells. A windy and cold day in the north too. Highs near 18C in southern England, 9C in northern Scotland.
Saturday
