Outbreaks of persistent rain are expected across southern and south east England along with East Anglia and northern Scotland this morning. This will linger right through the afternoon. Elsewhere it will be a mostly cloudy day with showers, some locally heavy with a risk of a rumble of thunder. Some fleeting sunshine to come in between the showers. Chilly today with maximum temperatures of 12 to 16C.
Sunday Night
It becomes windy across northern parts of Scotland. Much of Britain will see outbreaks of rain for the evening and the night and it will be heaviest across Wales and eastern Scotland with a risk of local flooding across Wales. The rain will be quite light in the south east of England and across Northern Ireland. Minimums of 10 to 12C.
Monday
Very windy and cold today with winds gusting to gale force from the north east across Scotland and north east England. Very wet as well this morning with heavy rain across most places but clearing from Scotland. Mainly dry for northern Scotland and Northern Ireland in the afternoon but wet elsewhere with spells of heavy rain leading to local flooding. In the evening and night it stays very windy with gusts to 55 to 60 mph possible around North Sea coasts. Heavy rain clears the west tonight with a very heavy pulse of rain to come for north east England. Highs of 11 to 15C.
Tuesday
Continued cold and windy with the strong gales persisting across eastern parts of England and Scotland before moderating during the night. Rain will persist across eastern parts of England all day with clearing tonight. Elsewhere expect lots of cloud but it's mainly dry except for some light rain across northern Scotland. Highs of just 10 to 15C.
