Wednesday
Cloud and showers through the course of this morning over much of central, northern and western England, together with Wales, Ireland and the west and north of Scotland. Most of the showers light at first, but they will tend to become heavier as the morning progresses. More eastern counties are likely to be drier, still with a fair amount of cloud, but with some sunny spells in-between too. Into the afternoon the showers will be passing eastwards, mainly affecting northern England, and by mid afternoon, the eastern Midlands and East Anglia. At the same time brighter weather follows into Wales and western England. The showers fading away through Ireland too, with only scattered ones affecting western and northern Scotland. Temperatures rising to around 10 to 15C.
Wednesday night
Showers will be fading away fairly quickly during this evening, although they will persist around the windward facing coasts of Wales, northwest and southwest England. Inland skies will become clear, making for a chilly night. Over Scotland and the far north of England, together with northern Ireland there will be more in the way of cloud. Outbreaks of rain are likely, although these will be mainly light. Lowest temperatures at 5C over the Midlands, perhaps low enough for a touch of ground frost in well sheltered areas.
Thursday
A risk of some persistent rain affecting parts of northwest England and southwest Scotland on Thursday morning, with cloud and outbreaks of rain over much of the area. To the south it should be drier and brighter through the early morning, but showers may form later. The afternoon sees a threat of some heavy showers over much of England and Wales, as well as Scotland, although the far south of England should be drier. Thicker cloud will be bringing more rain into southern Ireland, this reaching southwest Wales and southwest England by the evening. Temperatures at 11 to 16C.
Friday
An area of rain passing through southern parts of England during Friday, probably remaining to the south of the M4, and clearing eastwards fairly quickly. For much of central and northern England there will be sunny spells, but also a few showers breaking out. In Wales most places will be dry, although a shower can't be ruled out here. mainly dry in Ireland with sunny spells. Scotland could have cloud and rain towards the west, most of it only very light, although eastern areas should be drier with sunny spells. Temperatures at 14 to 18C.
