Tuesday
Sunny across Cornwall and Devon with just the odd shower this morning. For the bulk of the United Kingdom expect little in the way of sunshine and lots in the way of cloud and showers. Many will be locally heavy with more persistent rain for north east England. All areas will see plenty of heavy showers through the afternoon, interspersed with brief sunnier periods. Temperatures still below normal and it will become windy through the channel. Expect maximums at 15 to 19C north to south.

Tuesday Night
A number of showers will persist across the country into the first part of the evening before becoming confined to western areas. Overnight some light rain is forecast to move into Wales and north west England with showers across Scotland. Expect minimums of 9 to 13C.

Wednesday
Mainly dry and bright with some morning sunshine for central and southeast England. The rest of Britain will have further showers, many heavy. Lots of showers then through the afternoon, these look heaviest across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Just a few scattered showers around this evening with a good deal of dry weather across Britain overnight. Highs of 16 to 19C.

Thursday
Wet and windy weather sweeps in Northern Ireland and Wales this morning with the rest of the United Kingdom dry with some sunshine. In the afternoon gales develop in the north west with the rain spilling eastward into most areas. Through the evening and night the rain clears from central and southern England and lingers across northern Britain. Highs of 16 to 21C.
