Thursday
For the eastern half of England and the East Midlands, it's a fair, dry and bright morning. For the rest of Britain a front will bring in outbreaks of light to moderate rain. In the afternoon sporadic outbreaks of mainly light rain will affect much of England, Wales and the northern half of Scotland. Mainly dry though for south west England, Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. By the end of the afternoon much of Britain will be dry and brighter. Expect maximums at 16 to 21C.

Thursday Night
Outbreaks of rain and drizzle will affect the north of Scotland and Shetland during the evening and night. Much of England and Wales should have a pleasant, dry evening with some late sunshine. Overnight outbreaks of rain will then spread in across the West Country. Lows of 9 to 14C.

Friday
an area of rain and drizzle across south west England is expected to spread north east into Wales, Northern Ireland, The Midlands and into northern England. Showers will fall across northern Scotland with East Anglia and south east England dry. In the afternoon it's dry across central and southern England but for the remainder of the United Kingdom it's very wet with spells of heavy rain. Heavy train lingers across Scotland tonight. Highs of 17 to 21C.

Saturday
More rain is expected across northern parts of Scotland into the morning and afternoon. Apart from a few well scattered showers around Irish Sea coasts, southern Scotland, England and Wales should be fair and dry through the day with sunnier spells and occasional cloud. Dry too for Northern Ireland. Highs of 15 to 22C.
