Wednesday
Much of Britain will get off to a dry, sunny start but later scattered showers will develop across most areas with a few heavy ones across Scotland. Mainly dry across south west England. The afternoon is looking quite dry and mostly sunny across Wales, The Midlands and the south of England. To the north expect further showers, some locally heavy with a risk of thunder. Expect maximums of 16C for Edinburgh, 19C for Birmingham and 22C for London.
Wednesday Night
Most of the showers will soon fade from northern parts of England and Scotland with most places ending the day fine and sunny. Overnight there is a risk of some light rain across northern Scotland. Elsewhere it's dry and mostly clear. Lows of 10 to 12C.
Thursday
Expect sunny spells and a few scattered showers for Northern Ireland, southern Scotland and northern England with light rain across northern Scotland. The rest of England and Wales is dry and sunny. While many areas will escape the showers in the afternoon, there will be a scattering around England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Southern Scot could see a few heavy ones with light rain lingering in the north. Still a number of showers to come in many areas this evening with a heavier pulse of thundery rain moving into the far south of England overnight. Highs of 16 to 23C.
Friday
An area of heavy, thundery rain across southeast England and East Anglia in the morning is expected to move into north east England in the afternoon. Elsewhere expect quite a few showers with little in the way of sunshine. It looks quite windy across south east England this evening and overnight with a risk of some heavy rain from north east England into eastern Scotland. Very chilly with highs of just 13 to 17C.
