Rain clearing the south east Settled and dry Monday seiten=4 abk=focus

Sunday
Some patchy, light residual rain and drizzle across south east England will move away this morning. Then for England and Wales a fresh, dry and mostly sunny morning to come. Scattered, light showers will develop across Northern Ireland, eastern England and Scotland with one or two across the south of England and Wales. In the afternoon much of England and Wales though looks mostly sunny and dry. Expect maximum temperatures of 14 to 16C in the north and 17 to 20C in the south.

Sunday Night
This evening any isolated light showers across eastern parts of England and Scotland will soon fade away with most places to end the day with some evening sunshine. This leaves all of the United Kingdom dry and mostly clear overnight. Quite cold across Scotland tonight with lows down to 3 to 5C, 8 to 10 across England and Wales.

Monday
With high pressure over the country, most places look dry and sunny for the morning apart from a few showers around western coasts of Scotland. More cloud is expected in the afternoon but still some good sunny spells with just a few well scattered showers across Scotland. A fine evening with some late sunshine for most areas. Dry overnight but rain spreads into north west Scotland. Top temperatures of 16 to 20C.

Tuesday
Outbreaks of rain across northern Scotland become heavier in the afternoon. Some rain may also reach parts of Northern Ireland later in the afternoon. For southern Scotland, England and Wales it will remain dry throughout with plenty of sunshine on offer in all areas. Much of Scotland and Northern Ireland looks quite wet into the evening and night. A fine night across England and Wales with some patchy mist by morning. Highs of 16 to 23C north to south.
