Cloudy, wet and cool Heavy showers on Sunday seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
Breezy with plenty of cloud around the UK and Ireland on Saturday morning. Low pressure, centred in the Irish Sea, will be bringing periods of rain to most places. Most of the rain through the morning will be over Scotland, northern England, the Midlands, Wales, southwest England and Ireland. Over the southeast the rain is likely to be lighter and more patchy, similar for the far north of Scotland. During this afternoon very little change is expected with most of Scotland, England and Wales remaining cloudy and wet. A windy afternoon with some moderate rain along southern coasts and counties of England, and the risk of heavy rain over the high ground of Scotland. Drier later in Ireland and western Scotland, although turning colder with the winds increasing. A cool day with tops at 14 to 17C.
Saturday night
Remaining cloudy and damp throughout Saturday night. Heavy rain and gales across much of Scotland, with the focus for the heavy rain in eastern and southern areas. Shetland should escape largely dry though with lighter winds. The rain also across most of eastern Ireland, where it will be windy too, although western Ireland should be drier. More rain affecting Wales too. Heavy showers are possible through central and southern England, with a risk of thunderstorms, and more persistent cloud and rain is likely in the southwest. Lows near 9 to 14C.
Sunday
The low pressure area remains through Sunday. This is going to be bringing another very unsettled day. Cloud and rain for most of eastern and southern Scotland, Wales and England. Some heavy bursts of rain could affect the southern Midlands and East Anglia as low pressure moves east. Mainly light winds here. For Ireland it should be a brighter day in sunny spells, although patchy rain will be moving into western Ireland later. Temperatures at 14 to 18C.
Monday
A brighter morning to come over most of eastern Scotland, England and Wales with some good spells of sunshine. For Ireland and western Scotland cloud is going to be thickening through the morning bringing periods of rain. In the afternoon the cloud and rain drifts eastwards to be through Scotland and northern England where some of it will be heavy on hills. Over southwest England and western Wales the rain will be lighter and more drizzly, whilst much of East Anglia and the southeast stay dry. Becoming drier and brighter in Ireland by evening. Highs at 22C in the southeast, 17C in western Scotland.
