Rather cloudy, drizzle in places Staying cloud in the days ahead seiten=4 abk=focus
Thursday
Lots of cloud around for many parts of the UK and Ireland today. Many western and northern parts of Scotland will have outbreaks of drizzle, whilst more eastern and southern areas should become drier and warmer. Cloud and drizzle affecting Ireland too. Most of northern England, Wales and parts of the Midlands will have a cloudy, misty morning with some more outbreaks of rain and drizzle. For southern and eastern England there will be cloud, but it should be dry. This afternoon sees western coasts having more drizzle with mist and fog patches too. Away from eastern coasts cloud could break with sunny spells coming through. Feeling warm in the sunshine. Temperatures at 16C in western Scotland, 23C in the sunshine over southern England.
Thursday night
Winds will be increasing through most of the country, perhaps becoming strong over Scotland. Cloud and rain will be spreading eastwards through central and northern Scotland too and some of this could be heavy over Highland. Some low cloud and drizzle may well affect western coasts of Ireland, Wales and northern England. Many eastern, central and southern parts of England and Ireland should be dry with variable amounts of cloud. A very mild night, lows near 11 to 14C.
Friday
A breezy and cloudy day through Scotland with outbreaks of rain. The rain always heaviest and most persistent to the west, with more showery rain through northern Scotland, Shetland and Orkney at first. Plenty of cloud over Ireland, Wales, southern Scotland and England with drizzle and coastal fog still a problem on western coasts. The afternoon sees the cloud and rain spreading into Scotland and northern England, with breezy conditions here. Much of the Midlands, southern England, Wales and southern Ireland will be generally dry, although still with a fair amount of cloud and only brief brighter spells. Temperatures at 15C in northern Scotland, 23C in southern England.
Saturday
Another rather cloudy day to come. Drizzle and rain affecting the western and northern areas of Scotland and Northern Ireland, these lasting through the day. Eastern Scotland and Ireland should be drier, although still with cloud. Northwest England and windward facing coasts of Wales will have further cloud and drizzle, together with fog patches. For much of eastern Wales and England the day will start off cloudy, but that cloud may break allowing a few bright or sunny spells to come through. Highs at 23C in the south, 15C in the north, and feeling muggy.
