Friday
Plenty of cloud for much of the country this morning, the emphasis of this cloud is always going to be towards the north and west. There could be some outbreaks of drizzle across Ireland, western Scotland, northwest England and parts of Wales. Southern parts of the Pennines into the Midlands may see some spots of drizzle too. Elsewhere it should be mainly dry, with a moderate to fresh westerly breeze blowing. Little change for the afternoon, with western and northern Scotland, northwest England, north Wales and Northern Ireland having drizzle and some mist and fog patches here. Drier to the east and south with some bright spells coming through over southern England. Where the sunshine does come through temperatures will peak at 23C, but staying near a muggy 16C in northern Scotland.
Friday night
Overnight it will be staying breezy and cloudy for most of the UK and Ireland. Outbreaks of rain affecting much of Scotland, Ireland, western England and Wales. The most persistent of the rain affecting western parts of Scotland. Mist and fog shrouding the hills of northern and western areas of the UK. Mainly dry further south and east, although still rather cloudy here. A muggy night at 12 to 16C.
Saturday
A breezy day over the northern half of the country, with a chance of some gales in northern Scotland. Here too there may be cloud and more persistent periods of rain, this slipping southwards through the day. Drizzle and cloud over southwest Scotland, Northern Ireland, northwest England and the north and west coasts of Wales with coastal and hill fog here. For the rest of England and Wales the morning starts cloudy with a few spots of drizzle, but this will be breaking allowing sunny spells to come through much of central and southern England. It will become warm here at 22C, but nearer 16C in northern Scotland.
Sunday
The band of rain slips southwards through southern Scotland and into northern England and Ireland today. Most of the rain light, but there may be some heavier bursts over high ground. For northern Scotland it should become drier and brighter, although heavy showers could affect Orkney and Shetland. For southern England and Wales there will be a fair amount of cloud, but this breaking with sunny spells coming through. Tops at 17C in northern Scotland, 23C in southern England.
