Monday
A brisk north wind will be blowing across Scotland, Northern Ireland and western parts of England and Wales with a cooler day for much of Britain. Any residual rain across Kent will soon clear away. Elsewhere expect a lot of cloud with scattered showers. Mainly dry though across eastern England. Best of the sunshine may be across south west Scotland and Cumbria. In the afternoon most places will be at risk if a light shower with some brighter spells thrown in. Later this afternoon most of the showers in the west should die away as it turns sunnier. Expect top temperatures of 10 to 14C for Scotland and Northern Ireland and 14 to 17C across England and Wales.

Monday Night
This evening a few sharp showers will be dotted around Irish Sea and North Sea coasts as more persistent rain moves into north west Scotland late in the night. Elsewhere it's dry with clearing skies. Overnight it turns cold across inland parts of Scotland with a frost expected. Minimums of -2 to 3C for Scotland otherwise 4 to 9C.

Tuesday
Still chilly today but with less wind it won't feel too bad. Outbreaks of rain are expected across northern Scotland and perhaps western parts of Northern Ireland. Some early showers are possible across East Anglia and Kent at first. For the rest of Britain it should be a fine, dry day with sunny spells and some occasional fair weather cloud. It turns wet and windy this evening as a band of heavier rain spreads in across Northern Ireland and much of Scotland. Rain then pushes into northern England and Wales during the night. Staying fine to the south. Highs of 10 to 17C north to south.

Wednesday
Rain clears Scotland followed by sunshine and showers, these mostly in the west. A dry morning across Kent and Sussex. For the rest of England and Wales spells of rain are expected. This area of rain will lie across central and southern England in the afternoon as it clears to sunny spells in the north of England. A few heavy showers may affect parts of Wales. Overnight we may see a moderate area of rain affecting south west England to Hampshire with rain for northern Scotland. Highs of 11 to 18C.
