Windy with showers Turning cold seiten=4 abk=focus

Tuesday
A windy, chilly day to come across Britain today. Showers are forecast across Wales and around western and eastern coasts of England with a spell of more persistent rain for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Central areas of England will be mainly dry and brighter with some sun and cloud. Expect a good deal of dry weather across the country but there is a risk of a shower just about anywhere along with a few sunny spells too. Light rain will linger across the north of Scotland. Expect top temperatures of 10 to 14C for Scotland and Northern Ireland and 14 to 16C across England and Wales but feeling colder in that stiff wind.

Tuesday Night
Continued very windy this evening and overnight with most of the showers now confined to western and eastern coasts of Scotland, Wales and England. Clearer and dry inland. A cold night to come but the north wind will inhibit frost formation. Expect minimums of 3 to 7C.

Wednesday
Continued windy and feeling quite cold today with a lot of cloud around eastern parts of England and Scotland and here expect scattered showers. Central and western parts of Scotland and England along with Wales and Northern Ireland will fair best with a dry day and some sunshine. Some light rain and showers will persist across eastern parts of Scotland and England into the evening and night. Elsewhere it's dry and mostly clear with a frost for sheltered glens of northern Scotland. Highs of just 7 to 12C for the bulk of the United Kingdom.

Thursday
Another 2 way split today as the brisk north east wind continues to feed a lot of cloud and some light rain to eastern parts of Scotland and England. This may edge a bit further into central areas in the afternoon. Further to the west it looks best with varying cloud and some sunshine. Here it looks dry with high pressure to the west. Eastern areas will continue to see a few showers into the night otherwise it's mostly cloudy and dry with moderating winds. Highs of 10 to 13C.
