Windy, cold, rain in east Patchy rain Friday, best in west seiten=4 abk=focus
Thursday
Breezy across England today but quite windy in the south east so feeling colder here. This morning a few showers near North Sea coasts may penetrate a bit further west in the afternoon into south east Scotland, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, East Anglia, Essex and Kent. North west Scotland will start cold and frosty but sunny. Western parts of the United Kingdom will have a dry day as well with the best of the sunshine the further west you go. Northern Ireland will see long sunny spells. More cloud is forecast across northern England and the Midlands in the afternoon. The cold north wind will keep temperatures down with tops of 8 to 14C north to south.
Thursday Night
Continued windy this evening and overnight across East Anglia and the south east of England and here expect occasional showers, a few may be heavy across Kent. Further to the west it will remain dry for the evening and night with clear spells. With lighter winds across Scotland, a frost is expected to develop across north-western areas. Expect minimums of 8 to 10C but down to 1 to 3C for the north west of Scotland.
Friday
Continued rather windy today. Dry today for Northern Ireland and western Scotland and here expect the best of the limited sunshine. Elsewhere expect lots of cloud and this will be thick enough to give some rain in places and a few showers to Wales. The rain may be a bit heavier down across Kent. Perhaps Cornwall could escape with a dry, bright day and maybe the extreme west of Wales. Dry this evening and tonight for Northern Ireland, western Scotland, Wales and The West Country. Elsewhere it remains cloudy with sporadic outbreaks of patchy, lightish rain. Highs of 12 to 17C but feeling colder in that nagging onshore wind.
Saturday
After a windy morning in the south east, the brisk north east wind will moderate in the afternoon. Some patchy rain across The Midlands, East Anglia and the south east will tend to fizzle out through the afternoon as it brightens up. Most parts will be dry for the afternoon with a mixture of cloud and occasional sunny intervals though Wales may see the odd shower. Dry tonight across Britain with a frost expected across northern Scotland. Highs of 12 to 18C.
