Monday
A cold start to the day over many parts of the country. There will be a frost in many places too. Most of the morning should be dry with some spells of sunshine and variable amounts of cloud. A few showers rumbling into the coasts of Norfolk and Suffolk at first, although these tending to fade through the morning. As the morning progresses cloud will be tending to increase through western Scotland and Northern Ireland, bringing rain through the Western Isles and the coasts of northwest Ireland. Through this afternoon rain will be pushing through Scotland and Ireland, most of it light, but perhaps becoming more persistent and moderate in the west later. Over England and Wales it should be a dry day with sunny spells, the best of the sunshine over southern England. Temperatures at 9C over southern coasts of England, nearer 8C in central Scotland.

Monday night
A dry evening over much of England and Wales, although by midnight rain will have pushed into Wales and northern England. Most of the rain should be light and patchy. Drier weather will be reaching Scotland and Ireland after midnight, this reaching northern England and north Wales by the morning. It is likely to turn into a fairly windy night, with temperatures holding above freezing at 2 to 6C.

Tuesday
A windy morning for many. Rain and cloud will be affecting southern parts of England at first, this clearing away by lunchtime. All places will then be brighter with a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers most frequent around coasts and hills exposed to the northwest wind. Thicker cloud and more persistent rain may affect the far northeast of Scotland, together with Shetland and Orkney. A cold day with temperatures around 6 to 11C.

Wednesday
Another frost through many places on Wednesday morning. Most of the day will be dry and bright with some sunny spells, although some cloud and showers could affect parts of the east coast. Thicker cloud and some rain is expected to spread through Scotland in the afternoon. Highs near 6C over much of central and eastern England, nearer 12C in western Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
