Tonight
A windy cold night across the United Kingdom. Outbreaks of sleet and snow are expected across Wales, northern England into the Midlands with 3-5cm possible of accumulation over the Peak District and the Welsh Mountains. A dusting is also possible over the Chilterns, Cotswolds and the Downs of Kent by morning. Some sleety rain too may affect southern parts of England with rain expected across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The precipitation is expected to be heaviest across eastern Wales into central and northern parts of England with another 20-30mm possible locally. Monday
A very gusty and cold east to south east wind will be blowing across the United Kingdom today and it looks especially windy across northern Britain with gusts near gale force. With that deep low to the south west it's unsettled too and damp with outbreaks of rain though some heavy showers may affect south Wales and the far south of England. Brighter across south west England and here we may see some sunshine. Temperatures will below normal with highs of 6 to 8C but 10 or 11C around western coasts. It stays windy this evening and tonight, but some moderation is expected by morning. It may remain fair and dry across south west England but elsewhere it's mostly cloudy with further rain, mostly light and showers, heavier towards the far south of England. Too much wind and cloud tonight which will keep frost at bay. Expect lows generally in a range of 5 to 8C.

Tuesday
Breezy with outbreaks of rain this morning for England and Wales. This looks heavy towards the channel in the morning and this is forecast to push north in the afternoon. For the north of Scotland expect lighter rain with southern parts of Scotland mainly dry today. The heavy rain across England and Wales is expected to spread north into all but Northern Ireland and the far north of Scotland this evening and tonight. Maximum temperatures of 7 to 10C.
