Tuesday
Plenty of cloud to start the day over much of England and Wales. There will be some rain over southern counties of England, this spreading north through breakfast time and becoming heavy along the southern coasts. A few spots of drizzle over the Pennines and Wales. Western parts of Wales and some areas of northwest England may have a few brighter spells. In the afternoon the rain will be spreading into the Midlands, East Anglia, Southwest England and then eastern Wales. The rain will become heavy at times, leading to lots of surface water on the roads. Northeast England and eastern Scotland will be cloudy with some periods of drizzle over the hills. Western Scotland should be drier, although still with lots of cloud. Showers in Northern Ireland, whilst the rest of Ireland should be mainly dry and cloudy. Temperatures at 11C in southeast England, 7C in eastern Scotland.
Tuesday night
A wet evening throughout Wales and England, bringing some heavy periods of rain. Drier weather spreads to southern and central England in the early hours, but still lots of cloud and mist here. The rain spreading to northern England and most of eastern and southern Scotland after midnight, again some of them heavy. There is a risk of localised flooding in parts of England and Wales. The rain reaches eastern Ireland in the early hours, whilst the west stays dry until morning. It will be breezy with low temperatures at 3 to 4C over Scotland and parts of Wales, nearer 7 to 9C in southeast England.
Wednesday
Heavy rain over most of Scotland and Northern Ireland on Wednesday morning, this slowly moving northwards. It will be windy here as well. Lighter rain for northwest England, this spreading to north Wales. Brighter spells will be moving to East Anglia and southern England , these brighter skies spreading into the Midlands and East Anglia in the afternoon. Staying wet throughout in northwest Scotland and Northern Ireland. Staying windy in the north. Temperatures at 6C in central Scotland, 14C in parts of southern England.
Thursday
A band of rain through southwest England and the Midlands during the day, some of it heavy. Plenty of cloud over the north of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland with some showers at times. Southeast England should be drier with broken cloud and a few bright spells at first, but then a chance of some rain here later. Hard to put too much detail on the weather for Thursday, so check back tomorrow for more. Temperatures at 11C in southeast England, more generally 7 to 8C in the rain.
