Rain & fog Colder for Thursday seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
It is going to be a wet morning over much of Scotland, northern and eastern Ireland and Wales. In fact, for much of central and northern Scotland, as well as Northern Ireland, the day will be staying wet throughout. Southern Scotland should become drier during the course of the afternoon. For much of England it will be a rather dull morning. There may be some dense fog patches in places, especially through the Midlands and East Anglia, and these are going to be slow to clear. The afternoon shows very little change, although southern Wales should become drier. Another area of rain and showers will move along southern coasts of southwest England before dark, but for the rest of England the cloud may break allowing a few bright spells to come through. For many though, the day stays misty and foggy. Temperatures at 12C in the far southeast, 6C in southern Scotland.

Wednesday night
The rain continues over northern and western Scotland this evening and through much of the night too. Northern Ireland also stays wet, with the rain returning southwards once again. Another area of rain or showers is expected to affect much of southwest and central southern England, eventually pushing into the Midlands and East Anglia through the early hours. Most of Wales should stay dry, although the threat of some rain in the far west by the morning can't be ruled out. In any clearer skies temperature may dip to 1|C, leading to some icy patches on roads through the western Midlands and northwest England, nearer 6 to 7C in the rain.

Thursday
Turning colder for many through the day on Thursday, with rain returning back southwards through Scotland, northern England and Ireland in the morning. The rain turning to snow on the hills in the north. Showers over much of East Anglia and southeast England, ahead of the showery rain arriving from the north through the afternoon. many places should be drier and brighter in the afternoon, but colder with a threat of showers. The showers heavy over northern and eastern Scotland where snow may fall even at lower levels. Temperatures at 3C in northern Scotland, 9C in southern England.

Friday
A chance of some showers over East Anglia and southeast England on Friday. For most the day is going to be dry though. The best of any sunshine will be through more western areas, and it is going to be feeling cold in the northeast winds. Temperatures at just 2 to 4C in that wind over Scotland, northern and central England, perhaps 7C over southwest England.
