Very windy and bitterly cold this morning across all of the United Kingdom with outbreaks of snow spreading across Wales, The Midlands and northern England with heavy snow showers across Scotland. Wet and slightly milder in the far south with rain. In the afternoon it stays windy with snow and snow flurries for Wales, northern England and Northern Ireland. Outbreaks of rain are expected for southern England and East Anglia with further heavy snow showers to come across Scotland. Feeling bitterly cold today with highs of 0 to 3C but a much milder 8 in the far south.

Thursday Night
Cloudy but becoming less windy across the country through this evening with patchy outbreaks of light rain though more snow is likely to fall across northern Scotland which will be heavy giving temporary blizzards. Dry albeit cloudy across the south east of England tonight with heavy snow persisting across northern Scotland. For the rest of the United Kingdom it's a misty, overcast night with outbreaks of mainly light rain and drizzle. Lows of -2 to 2C with +6C in the far south of England.

Friday
Cloudy but dry across East Anglia this morning. The rest of the United Kingdom will be dull and damp with spells of rain, mostly light. The rain turns heavier in the afternoon across Northern Ireland and the western half of Scotland, England and Wales with snow over the hills of northern Scotland. It also becomes windy with gales around western coasts. The area of heavy rain sweeps east and clears all parts later this evening with showers to affect western areas overnight. Expect highs of 0 to 5C for Scotland, 7 to 10C for England and Wales 5 to 9C.

Windy and milder across much of the country today with gales across western Britain. Bright with a few showers for the south and south east with outbreaks of rain expected for the rest of the country, this heavy in the north. It remains cloudy and damp for much of Britain this afternoon with brighter spells and showers across the far south of England and South Wales. Showers or light rain is to affect western parts of the country tonight with central and eastern areas dry with clear spells. Expect highs of 5 to 10C.
