Monday
A windy, blustery day to come across the United Kingdom with spells of persistent rain expected across Scotland and northern England. This will fall as snow across the northern hills of Scotland with winds near gale force in the west. Further south an area of showery rain will be moving west to east though the morning. In the afternoon this clears with a number of sharp showers then expected near western coasts. Expect highs of 2 to 5C in the north and 5 to 9C for the south.

Monday Night
It stays windy this evening and tonight with plenty of showers persisting across western areas and showers too are likely across northern Scotland with snow on the hills. During the night we may see more persistent rain getting into Wales with more showers to fall across western parts of Scotland and England with a few for Northern Ireland as well. Eastern and central parts of England and Scotland look dry with clear spells. Lows of 4 to 4C inland, 6 to 8C around coasts.

Tuesday
A deepening area of low pressure moving into towards the Irish Sea will bring gales of severe gales to Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland and north west England today. Heavy rain too spreads in across England, Wales and southern Scotland with heavy showers replacing the rain in the far west in the afternoon. As the rain heads into northern Scotland, snow is expected across the northern hills in the evening. Expect highs of 1 to 4C for Scotland and Northern Ireland with a much milder 6 to 11C for England and Wales.

Wednesday
An area of rain near south west England may spread east along the channel coast during the afternoon and may be heavy. Apart from a few showers in the morning around western coasts, it's a fine, dry day with the best of the sunshine across northern England and southern Scotland. More rain, preceded by snow over Scotland, spreads into Northern Ireland, Scotland, northern England and Wales overnight. Expect highs of 2 to 9C north to south.
