Wednesday
Another windy day to come across the United Kingdom with gales in the west and severe gales of 80 to 90 mph across northern Scotland. It's also very wet across northern Scotland with heavy rain with snow over the hills. Much of central and eastern Britain starts dry and mostly sunny bit an areas of heavy, prolonged showers in the west will sweep east later this morning clearing later in the afternoon. There is also a risk of a rumble of thunder as well. By the afternoon 2 to 5C for Scotland, 6 to 9C or England and Wales.
Wednesday Night
It becomes less windy this with outbreaks of more persistent rain moving into Wales and south west England. Elsewhere it's largely dry with clear spells in the east. Overnight the rain in the west is expected to move into much of England and will be heavy in the north and west. Rain moves into Northern Ireland tonight with showers for western Scotland. Lows of 1 to -2C in the north, 0 to -4C for Scotland, 6 to 9C south.
Thursday
Windy again today and a wet morning with heavy spells of rain for much of the United Kingdom with snow over northern Scotland. By the afternoon the rain will be across eastern parts of Scotland and England with a number of showers coming into the west. More snow is expected to fall across northern Scotland with gales in the north and west. By evening the rain will have cleared with showers around western coasts and eastern areas dry with clear skies. Overnight the rain in the channel may drift bch north into the far south of England. Expect highs of 1 to 2C for northern Scotland, otherwise 6 to 10C.
Friday
An area of heavy rain in the far south of England this morning may push up into the South Midlands and South Wales in the afternoon. Lots of dry weather is expected north of this rain area with sunny spells but scattered showers will affect western coasts at times. The rain clears away into the channel this evening with much of the country then dry with clear spells and colder with a frost developing inland. Expect highs of 2 to 8C north to south.
