Thursday
Windy today with gales across western parts of Britain. A wet morning with heavy rain across Wales, northern England and southern Scotland and lighter rain elsewhere. The rain clears from the far west by the afternoon with the persistent rain then in the east clearing away during the course of the afternoon from all but south east England. Sunnier spells develop in many areas with showers to affect western coasts. High is just 2 to 5C for Scotland, 6 to 11C for England and Wales.
Thursday Night
Heavy spells of rain in the far south of England will be drifting north this evening and overnight it looks quite wet across Wales and central and southern England. To the north it's largely dry with wintry showers for the hills of northern Scotland. Strong winds are expected in the far south east of England. Colder tonight with a frost across Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Lows of in the north, 0 to -4C for Scotland and Northern Ireland, 5 to 9C elsewhere.
Friday
Outbreaks of heavy rain will affect much of England and Wales this morning and this gradually clears northern England and Wales in the afternoon. Generally dry and bright across Northern Ireland and Scotland with variable cloud. Rain now across East Anglia and south east clears away later this evening then dry and clear overnight. A very cold night with clear skies a widespread frost, severe across Scotland. Highs of just 2 to 5C but 10C in south east England.
Saturday
A cold, frosty morning for most and it will be dry with sunny spells though a few showers will affect western coasts and later this morning some rain reaches Cornwall. Rain the south west spills into Wales and central and southern England in the afternoon, heavy in places. Some rain also reaching Northern Ireland later. Elsewhere in the afternoon it's dry to the north but becoming cloud across northern England. All parts turn very wet this evening and tonight with heavy spells of rain though snow will affect the hills of northern Scotland above 300 metres. Expect highs of 2 to 6C but a mild 11C for south west England and 8C around the channel coast.
