Saturday
A chilly morning with plenty of sunshine over most of the country. There will be more cloud over the far east of England and some rain and possibly sleet here too. This slowly pulling away into the North Sea. Windy in the east too, the winds only easing in the afternoon. A few showers over the far north of Scotland, these well scattered. For most though it should be a fair morning. Cloud will be increasing through Ireland, Wales and southwest England bringing hazy spells of sunshine. The cloud thickening in the afternoon with rain arriving through southern Ireland, southwest Wales and southwest England, turning heavy in the far west by the evening. For most of the rest of England and Scotland it will be staying bright, but cold. Highs around 3C over the eastern Midlands, nearer 9C in Cornwall.

Saturday Night
Increasing winds through the night, with cloud and rain pushing eastwards. The rain turning heavier as it heads northwards, turning to snow over the southern Uplands, northern Pennines and then becoming heavier across central Scotland. Rain heavier across much of northern England, Wales and southwest England. So all parts of the country end the day cloudy and wet with strong winds and a risk of some gales in the west and south. Lowest temperatures at 0C in southern Scotland, nearer 3C in the Midlands and a warm 6C in southwest England.

Sunday
A wet and windy morning over much of the country. Rai will be heavy across Wales, northern and western England and Scotland, with a risk of some local flooding. More drizzly and mild in central and eastern England. Brighter weather arriving into Ireland and turning colder here too. The heavy rain very slowly edging eastwards and extending through southwest and central southern England, Wales, northern England and much of Scotland with a chance of flooding in places. Showers and brighter in Ireland and the far southwest of England. Further snow over the high ground of Scotland. Temperatures at 5 to 8C.

Monday
Further rain across northern and eastern England, some of it heavy in the morning but becoming lighter in the afternoon. A brighter day in western England, Scotland and Wales. There will be sunny spells and showers to the west, the showers heavy at times with a chance of hail and thunder, these turnig wintry over Ireland. The most frequent of the showers over northwest Scotland and western Ireland these turning more persistent at times. Temperatures at 3C in Ireland, 9C in southeast England.
