Monday
A windy, blustery morning with a mixture of cloud, showers and sunnier spells. The showers in the west will be heavy with a risk of thunder and hail in the west and these will spread east into many areas perhaps with more prolonged rain across northern England. Continued windy into the afternoon with further showers to come but perhaps fewer and not as heavy, especially across eastern parts of England and Scotland where there will be the best of the sunshine. High of 6 to 10C.

Monday Night
Light rain is expected across Scotland and northern England this evening with more persistent rain spilling into south west England and Wales. Fair and dry with clear spells through the Midlands into eastern England. It becomes windy with gales for southern England tonight as the rain in the south west becomes heavy as it spread in across al parts of the United Kingdom. Snow is expected over the Scottish Hills and the rain will be heavy across southern England and Wales with a risk local flooding. Lows or 2 to 4C for Scotland and 5 to 9C elsewhere.

Tuesday
Very windy across southern England with winds of 60 mph around the coasts. Outbreaks of heavy rain will affect much of England and Wales this morning and this gradually clears south England and south west Wales in the afternoon followed by showers. With the heavy rain there remains the risk of flooding. As the rain heads into Scotland, snow and freezing rain may affect the north. More rain to come for most areas into the evening and night. Highs of just 2 to 4C for northern Scotland, but up to a very mild 13C in the south of England.

Wednesday
It becomes colder today. Mostly cloudy and breezy this morning with showers around western and eastern coasts. Sunny spells will develop by the afternoon across central parts of England and Scotland with further showers to come in the west and east. A cold night to come with a widespread frost in most areas but rain will creep into Northern Ireland and Cornwall before morning. Expect highs of 1 to 4C across the north with 5 to 8C in the south.
