Thursday
A deep area of low pressure west of Scotland on Thursday. A band of cloud and rain moves north and eastwards through the country during the day. This will bring rain through southern and western Scotland, northern England, Wales and the Midlands in the morning. The rain reaching northeast England, eastern and northern Scotland in the afternoon, and it will be windy ahead of the rain too. Showers follow the rain through Ireland, Wales and western parts of England, reaching eastern England by mid to late afternoon. Winds will be picking up to with gusts to gale force over southern Scotland. High temperatures at 11C in the far south of England, 4C in southern Scotland.
Thursday Night
Some showers through the evening over Scotland and northern England, and windy here too. Becoming drier through much of the country as high pressure temporarily builds from the west. After midnight cloud will be increasing from the west, with the winds picking up to be near gale force over Ireland. rain will arrive from the west too, some of it heavy in southern and western Ireland, with lighter rain running ahead of the front to Wales, southwest and northwest England as well as western Scotland. Temperatures down to between 2 and 4C for many of us, but these rising as the cloud and winds increase.
Friday
A wet and windy morning for much of England and Wales, with a deep area of low pressure west of Scotland. Winds will be reaching gale force over many northern and western exposed coasts and hills. The rain could be heavy at times across Scotland, northwest England, west Wales, southwest England and Ireland, with an odd heavier burst elsewhere too. Snow will be affecting the high ground of Scotland. Staying wet and windy in the afternoon with heavy periods of rain over Scotland, and western coasts of Wales, England and Scotland. The winds to severe gale force over Scotland. Very mild for many at 14C, colder in the far north of Scotland at 6C.
Saturday
Staying cloudy and damp over much of England, Wales and Ireland. The rain could be heavy at times over western coasts of Wales, southern Ireland and northern England. The rain lighter inland and more drizzly. Fog may shroud the hills of many parts, with the winds staying fairly brisk over southern England. Much of Scotland will be be rather cloudy with showers over the west and north. Remaining cold over the northern half of the country at around 4 or 5C, much milder to the south at nearer 12C.
