Tuesday
A cold start across much of England, Scotland and Wales with a frost but for much of the United Kingdom it's a dry morning with sunny spells. More cloud will move into western areas later with rain into Northern Ireland. In the afternoon the cloud will be thick enough for some light rain across Wales and north west England with heavier rain for western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Still dry and bright for central and southern England. Colder today but temperatures will continue to rise from the west with highs of 3 to 5C in the north and 6 to 8C in the south.
Tuesday Night
This evening sees milder air sweeping in across all areas. Rain and drizzle in the west also spreads eastward into most places and will persist into the night with a lot of low cloud and mist over the hills and around the coasts. A mild night with lows of 8 to 12C.
Wednesday
A grey, misty dank morning across Britain with sporadic outbreaks of rain and drizzle though this will be heavier across Scotland and Northern Ireland. Not much change is expected into the afternoon with all parts overcast and misty but very mild with rain in the north and west. The rain pushes south and lies across northern England, The Midlands, Wales and south west England tonight as it turns colder in the north with snow showers developing across northern Scotland. Unseasonably mild with highs of 10 to 13C north to south.
Thursday
Rain across Wales and the southern half of England will be slowly clearing from the north through the course of the day as it turns colder in the north behind the front. It will be drier across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England with showers around the coasts. The rain will have cleared the south east of England later this evening before more rain sweeps into Northern Ireland and Scotland in the night. Expect highs of 3 to 6C but still mild in the south with tops of 7 to 10C.
