Friday
A very windy day to come for many parts of the country. The winds will be reaching severe gale force across Scotland with gusts in excess of 80mph in places. Gales are expected as well across Ireland and northern parts of England. There will be plenty of cloud for all areas this morning. The cloud producing rain across Scotland, with drizzle for the western coasts of Ireland and northwest England, together with fog shrouding the hills. Away from the coasts it should be dry over east and southern England, although still with plenty of cloud. Little change for this afternoon with further periods of rain affecting Scotland, together with gale force winds. Later on the far north of Scotland may become drier, although cooler too. For most of England, wales and Ireland the afternoon stays windy and mild. Still plenty of cloud around, but once again that will be breaking in places, allowing some sunny spells to come through; the highest chance in the Midlands. High temperatures around 8C in northern Scotland, nearer 11C in southern England.
Friday Night
A band of rain lying across Northern Ireland and the central and southern parts of Scotland, some of this heavy at times. Staying windy too, with the rain more showery across northern Scotland. Wales and most of England will be dry with a fair amount fo cloud, and again some drizzle and low cloud affecting the coasts. Northwest England couold see some drizzle with cloud shrouding the hills here. Temperatures no lower than arouond 6 or 7C.
Saturday
That band of rain looks to be lying through central and northern parts of Ireland, and into northern England on Saturday. Again, some of this could be heavy over western slopes and coasts. The rain may also nudge into north Wales at times. Over Scotland expect a cool day with sunny spells, but also some wintry showers over exposed coasts of the north and west. To the south of the rain band most of Wales and England will be dry, but rather cloudy, with the threat of some drizzle on western coasts too. INland it should be brighter, a few sunny spells coming through here. Highs at 4C in the cooler air over Scotland, 11C in the milder conditions through southern England.
Sunday
The rain eventually dying away on Sunday, perhaps leaving some residual cloud across southern ireland and parts of Wales and northern England. There will be cloud in other parts of England too, but we should find that through the day the cloud breaks with some sunshine coming through, and it could almost feel spring-like over southern and central England. Breezier for Scotland and Northern Ireland, and always the threat of some drizzle in western Scotland. High temperatures at 9C in northern Scotland, 11C in southern England.
