Wednesday
A chilly start to the morning with a local frost across central and eastern parts of Scotland. Around western coasts of Scotland expect a scattering of showers and these will come and go through the afternoon as well. For England, Wales and Northern Ireland high pressure temporarily will give a fine dry day with good spells of sunshine. Later in the afternoon we will find more cloud coming into Cornwall, western Wales and Northern Ireland as a warm front approaches from the west. We're expecting maximum temperatures of Highs of 2 to 4C for northern otherwise 5 to 10C should cover it for most places.

Wednesday Night
It becomes windy in the west then for all parts overnight. Gales will affect western coasts with gusts in excess of 60 mph around exposed western coasts. Outbreaks of persistent rain and drizzle will spread into Northern Ireland, Wales and the far west of Cumbria and Scotland this evening then into all but East Anglia, the South Midlands and south west England overnight. The rain will be heavy across Scotland with snow over the Highlands. Initially lows down to 2 to 4C in the north but they will be rising quickly overnight in all areas with most places around 5 to 10C by morning.

Thursday
Still quite windy, especially in the north and now that the warm front has moved through, very mild today with temperatures well above normal. Most places should be rather dull with mist over the hills and some patchy drizzle across western parts of Britain this morning and much of the afternoon though perhaps some brighter spells may develop to the east of the Pennines and across south east England and the East Midlands. Perhaps east of the Cambrians as well may brighten up. Scotland will have a very wet morning with lighter, drizzly rain in the afternoon. More light rain to come for Scotland tonight and some too across Northern Ireland. Lots of low cloud for England and Wales with mist and patchy drizzle across Wales and western England. Expect highs of 9 to 14C.

Friday
A band of steady rain will lie across Northern Scotland and Northern Ireland in the morning and this moves into southern Scotland in the afternoon. A grey morning for England and Wales with drizzle across Wales and western England. Not much change here into the afternoon though some brighter spells may develop across East Anglia and south east England. Still unseasonably mild across the United Kingdom with highs of 9 to 14C.
