Showers and strong winds A better day on Wednesday seiten=4 abk=focus

Thursday
Plenty of cloud around for most parts of the country today. There will be some outbreaks of drizzle, most of this affecting the coasts of western England, Wales and Ireland. More persistent rain across northern coasts of Ireland and the west of Scotland, where it is also going to become breezy in a fresh to strong southwest wind. More central and eastern areas of England should have a drier morning, perhaps with a brighter spell coming through later. This afternoon sees very little change with western coasts always at risk of some drizzle and low cloud. That rain continues through the Western Isles and western Scotland, fog on the coasts here. Eastern Scotland should be drier, as will be much of central and eastern England and Wales. Again a few bright or even sunny spells may come through the cloud, and where these occur it may become exceptionally mild. Highs at 15C in the sunshine, around 12 or 13C elsewhere.

Thursday Night
More low cloud during the course of tonight and staying windy through Scotland and Ireland, those winds touching gale force at times on exposed coasts and hills. Most of the rain is again through the northwest of Scotland, and down the western coasts of Ireland, with some fog patches drifting in from time to time too. Western coasts of Wales, England and southern and eastern coasts of Ireland still prone to some drizzle and fog drifting off the sea. Elsewhere it will be a mild and dry night with well broken cloud and lows of 6 to 9C.

Friday
Friday sees showery bursts of rain into Ireland, and this rain continuing over the west of Scotland too. Western coasts of Wales and western England also having low cloud and outbreaks of drizzle from time to time, together with a few fog patches. Across much of central and eastern England it should become drier and brighter, sunny spells coming through and turning very mild once again. Highs near 14C in the sunshine, 10C in the cloudier west.

Saturday
The band of cloud and outbreaks of rain persists across the west of Scotland and western Ireland. Some low cloud drifts through southern Ireland and up the Irish Sea towards southwest Scotland, western England and Wales with the risk of some drizzle here. For the rest of England, southeast Scotland and eastern Wales the day will be drier. Bright or sunny spells will be coming through and it will be mild again. Temperatures around 9C over the cloudier parts of western Scotland, 13C in southeast England.
