Cloudy and feeling cold More sunshine for the weekend seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
Across Northern Ireland and the far north west of Scotland and perhaps western parts of Cumbria it's a cold, frosty start to the day and here expect the best pf any sunshine for today. But for the bulk of the United Kingdom it's a grey, dull morning with plenty of low cloud which may give some spots of drizzle to east facing hills though the extreme west of Wales may be bright and sunnier. We're not expecting much of a change for the afternoon with much of Britain cloudy and colder with a few spots of patchy drizzle in the east and still some weak sunshine for the far west of Scotland and Northern Ireland. Feeling cold under the cloud cover with highs of 5 to 8C.
Friday Night
Apart from Northern Ireland where it's mostly clear and frosty tonight, lots of low cloud again is expected into the evening and night across much of the United Kingdom. This will keep frost at bay. Quite misty as well with some patchy drizzle likely in the east and over the Pennines, Cambrians and the Malverns. Look for lows of 2 to 5C for most places though around 0 to 1C across Northern Ireland.
Saturday
Another dull, misty morning with some patchy drizzle in places but fair and bright across Northern Ireland. In the afternoon the cloud should thin to give some bright or sunny spells to much of England and Wales with more cloud now to be found across Northern Ireland and Scotland. As cloud clears further from most places, there is a risk of a widespread and hard frost developing across much of the United Kingdom during the night. We are expecting top temperatures of 5 to 8C.
Sunday
So a very cold and frosty morning to come across much of Britain with a few dense patches of freezing fog around the Midlands and north east England. These should clear and most places will be fine with good spells of sunshine to come. With light winds it won't feel too bad. It stays dry with frost soon developing through the evening and will again become widespread and hard overnight. A few dense freeing fog patches will also develop across central England into the Vale of York. Expect highs of 6 to 10C.
