Sunny spells, very cold Less frosty tonight seiten=4 abk=focus
Sunday
A beautiful start to Sunday morning over most of the British Isles and Ireland. It will be a very cold morning though with temperatures well below freezing at first. Plenty of sunshine for the whole of England and Wales. Across Scotland and Ireland there is a higher risk of some cloud, although this should be broken in places allowing sunny spells to come through. As the morning progresses there may be some cloud forming across northern England and parts of the Midlands. Into the afternoon we still expect some good spells of sunshine for much of England and Wales, but patchy cloud could affect the Midlands and northern England, and further cloud could spread into the far south later. Scotland and Ireland stay dry albeit with a fair amount of cloud and some spots of drizzle in the far northwest. Winds will be light for most, although they could become moderate to fresh southeasterly over Ireland and the far southwest of England. Highs around 7 or 8C for most of the country.
Sunday Night
Probably more in the way of cloud through Sunday night and so the frost not as severe. However, there will be breaks in the cloud allowing temperatures to fall quickly and a frost to form. Thicker cloud still across northern Scotland, bringing some outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Temperatures could dip to -4C in some northern parts of England, nearer 0C where the cloud is thickest, and 3C over northwest Scotland.
Monday
A cloudier day is likely on Monday. The morning is going to be a cold one once again with a fair amount of cloud and some frost in places. Breaks appearing in the cloud as the day progresses with a few bright or sunny spells coming through. Thicker cloud could occur here and there, with most of it across southern Ireland where there could be some spots of drizzle. Further spots of rain and drizzle across the far northwest of Scotland where cloud will also be thicker. Temperatures at 7 to 11C.
Tuesday
A morning frost for much of the country today. There will be some bright or sunny spells in the east, but further west it is likely to be cloudier. The thickest of the cloud over the far southwest of England and southern Ireland, bringing a few spots of rain here and there. Further cloud for the north and west of Scotland, although it should be dry. For the whole of England and Wales the day should be dry. Temperatures at a milder 7 to 10C.
