Monday
Another bitterly cold start to the day across much of the country. There may be some freezing fog patches at first, but these should clear away quickly to leave the morning dry with plenty of sunshine. Only the far north of Scotland will see some cloud, and this could be thick enough to produce a few spots of rain or drizzle here and there. There will be very little change into the afternoon. More cloud affecting the far north of Scotland, again producing some spots of rain and drizzle here and there. Elsewhere it should be a fine afternoon with more sunshine, but feeling cold very quickly as the sun goes down. Temperatures rising to between 5 and 8C.

Monday Night
Another widespread frost to come overnight. The skies will be clear throughout this evening as temperatures fall sharply. There may be some freezing fog forming through the Vale of York, parts of the Midlands and East Anglia later on in the night. A slightly increased with over the far southwest of England and southern Ireland preventing temperatures falling too low here. Where the frost does occur it will be severe. Lowest temperatures at -5 to -8C over much of central and northern England, nearer 0C over the far southwest of England.

Tuesday
Those freezing fog patches again through Tuesday morning, some of them slow to clear away from northern England. Once they have gone though the day should be dry and bright again. Plenty of sunshine over most parts of Scotland, England and Wales, although the threat of some cloud drifting into southeast England later. There could be some cloud for the far southwest of Ireland by the evening, but for most it stays dry throughout. Temperatures at 7 to 9C.

Wednesday
A subtle change in the weather taking place through today. There will be a sharp frost at first through the Midlands, northern England and much of Scotland. Here the day stays dry with some good spells of sunshine throughout. Increasing cloud through southern England, south Wales and southern Ireland, bringing a few spots of rain or drizzle into the afternoon. Also some cloud drifting into western Scotland, although it should stay dry here. Highs at 7 to 11C.
