Tuesday
High pressure persists through the UK and Ireland today. There will be some morning freezing fog patches, especially through the Vale of York and through the eastern Midlands. This will be clearing slowly, but there is a risk of it lingering all day in one or two places. There is a risk of more cloud around through Tuesday, although this is going to be broken and so sunny spells coming through too. The best of the sunshine this morning across western Wales, western England and western Scotland. Little change for the afternoon with all places staying dry with more sunshine. Temperatures rising to around 7 to 9C in a light southeast wind.
Tuesday Night
Overnight thicker cloud will be moving into Ireland and the west of Scotland. It should stay generally dry here, although there is a chance of a few spots of light rain or drizzle. For the rest of Scotland, England and Wales there will be clear skies again. Temperatures are going to be falling quickly and frost is going to be widespread. A few mist or fog patches are going to be forming by the morning, with eastern areas most prone to these. Temperatures at -5C under the clear skies in eastern England and a widespread frost for many mainland areas, but no lower than 4C where the cloud increases in western Ireland and western Scotland.
Wednesday
A change in the weather taking place today. There will be a morning frost through many central and eastern areas, with a few fog patches too. These clearing quickly. Then cloud and outbreaks of light rain and drizzle move through western Scotland and Ireland, with thicker cloud and some more patchy rain moving onto southern coasts of England. By the afternoon the winds will be picking up through Scotland with cloud and rain moving eastwards through Scotland and into northwest England. Some spots of rain across Wales, with another area of patchy rain moving onto the southern coasts of England. Elsewhere cloud increases although it should stay dry. Highs near 8C in Scotland, 11C in the far south of England.
Thursday
A windy day to come across Scotland and Ireland as well as northern England. Periods of rain for Scotland and Ireland too, with some heavy bursts of rain in the west of Scotland. patchier rain for Northern Ireland, with some fog shrouding the hills. Staying rather cloudy across Wales and England and rather mild here too. Temperatures reaching 8 to 11C.
