Early fog and frost Cloud and patchy rain in north seiten=4 abk=focus

Wednesday
Another cold and frosty start to the day over much of England and Wales. There will be some dense fog patches in places and these may be reluctant to clear some parts of eastern England all day. The focus for the worst of the fog patches will be East Anglia and southeast England. Across Scotland and Ireland cloud is going to be steadily increasing through the morning bringing some patchy outbreaks of rain. This cloud moves through northern England and western Wales in the afternoon. For most though the day is going to be dry and bright again with some good spells of sunshine throughout.Highs at just 2C where fog lingers in southeast England, but more generally 7 to 9C.

Wednesday Night
A cloudier night to come for most of the United Kingdom and Ireland. This means that we will not see the severe frosts of previous nights, or the return of widespread fog. It is likely to be a generally cloudy night over much of England and Wales, with a risk of some patchy drizzle over the high ground of northern England and Wales. More persistent rain will be affecting western Scotland and western Ireland later in the night, the winds increasing here too, perhaps becoming gale force. Lowest temperatures near 5C in western Scotland, 2C over much of England, although should any clearer skies occur at first in southeast England we could see -1C in some sheltered spots.

Thursday
A different day with strong to gale force winds to come across much of northern England, Scotland and Ireland. There will be periods of rain too, with western Scotland, northwest England and Northern Ireland likely to see most of this. Lighter rain for eastern Scotland and northeast England. Some patchy drizzle or light rain for the west and north coasts of Wales, but dry and mild over most of southern and central England. High temperatures at 7C in Scotland nearer 12C over southern England.

Friday
The threat of some heavy periods of rain over much of Scotland, northern England and Ireland, this should fade into the afternoon with showers following from the west. The rain more patchy by the time it reaches northern England and Wales in the afternoon, with the winds still strong over northern England. For much of central and southern England, as well as Wales, the day should be dry with broken cloud and an odd brighter spell here and there in the far south. Highs at 7C in northern Scotland, 14C over brighter parts of southern England.
