Wednesday
Not as windy across northern parts of Britain today but still breezy. A lot of cloud too across Scotland and northern England with scattered showers. The showers will be of snow over the Highlands with any showers confined to Scotland by the afternoon. For Northern Ireland and the rest of England and Wales it's a cold, sunny morning. It remains dry with sunny spells through the afternoon and with light winds it will feel quite pleasant. Expect maximum temperatures of 5 to 8C in the north and 8 to 11C in the south.
Wednesday Night
A few wintry showers to come this evening for the north of Scotland otherwise it's dry and chilly with mostly clear skies across Britain. Overnight rain will move into the far north of Scotland and in across Cornwall, Devon and southern Wales. For the rest of the United Kingdom it will be dry with clear spells leading to a frost. Expect minimums of -1 to 3C but 8C across south west England.
Thursday
Perhaps a dry but cloudy morning for Northern Ireland and southern Scotland. Rain in the south west soon sweeps into all pf England and Wales this morning which will be heavy away from northern England. Some light rain too for northern Scotland. Little change is seen across the country into the afternoon with it staying dry for Northern Ireland and southern Scotland and heavy rain cross England and Wales. The rain across England and Wales becomes light clearing through the evening and night. Expect highs of 5 to 8C but 13C across south west England.
Friday
Persistent and heavy rain is forecast to sweep into all but East Anglia, the East Midlands and south east England this morning as the winds strengthen in the west. A wet and windy afternoon then for all areas as the rain becomes heavier spreading into south east England. Gusts of 60 to 70 mph may affect exposed western coasts. Windy with light rain this evening then expect further gales with rain confined to the north east. Expect highs of 5 to 10C.
