Sunday
For much of England and Wales Sunday morning is going to be dry. There will be some good spells of sunshine through most areas and it is going to be feeling cooler. Over Northern Ireland and Scotland there will be some more sunny spells too, although increasing cloud will be bringing showers to the west of Scotland from mid-morning onwards. Into the afternoon increasing cloud will bring periods of rain through southern Ireland, this perhaps reaching the Scilly Isles by the end of the day. For the rest of England and Wales the afternoon stays dry, again with some more sunshine. Scotland is going to have increasingly unsettled conditions. It will become windy here with rain turning to snow inland and several centimetres falling in places. Temperatures rising to 7C in Scotland, 11C over southern England.

Sunday Night
Indications of the weather turning more wintry over the British Isles and Ireland tonight. A front will be bringing wintry showers through much of Scotland, Ireland and northern England. Most of the showers affecting more western areas, and these merging to more prolonged spells of snow over parts of western Scotland. Fort southern Ireland, Wales and southern England cloud is going to be increasing here, with rain crossing southern counties of England in the early hours. At the same time snow showers affect Wales and much of northern England, with heavier snow over central Scotland adding significantly to the already lying snow. Low temperatures at around freezing for many.

Monday
Monday morning sees rain clearing away from southeast England. There will be showers across Wales and southwest England, with further snow showers over much of western Scotland and Ireland. Over inland and eastern areas of England and Scotland it should be a cold but bright morning. The afternoon sees a change underway with the snow showers becoming heavier across Ireland, and gales here. Further heavy showers for much of Scotland and northern England, with some showers moving into the Midlands and southern England too, some of them heavy and turning to sleet and snow at times. By the evening we could see showers merging to longer spells of rain and snow over Wales and southwest England. The winds in the west and southwest to severe gale force. Highs around 3 to 4C for much of the country, nearer 7C at first in the southeast, but these falling.

Tuesday
More snow through central Scotland today, with rain over the north and west. There could be some early sleet and rain over the far southeast too, but this should clear quite quickly. The whole of England and Wales will then be bright with sunny spells. Feeling chilly, although not as cold as Monday. Highs near 4 to 7C.
