Snow showers in east Frost tonight seiten=4 abk=focus
Tuesday
A cold start to the morning over all parts of the country. There will be a cold north to northwest wind blowing, and this will be bringing wintry showers to many eastern parts of Scotland and England. The showers should fade through the morning. At the same time another area of sleet and snow showers will be over western Scotland. This moving south to be into the northwest of England this afternoon. Elsewhere the day is likely to be fair with some sunny spells. After a cold start we should notice conditions turning milder through the day as the winds turn more westerly. Highs around 4C in Scotland, up to 9C in southwest England.
Tuesday Night
Increasing high cloud across Scotland and Ireland, and perhaps some low cloud moving into northwest Scotland later bringing a few spots of drizzle here. Elsewhere the night should be dry with clear skies. Increasing winds should prevent a frost from forming in the north, but to the south much lighter winds will allow a widespread frost. Lows by the morning around -4C over central England, nearer 4C in western Scotland.
Wednesday
A much cloudier day is likely for Wednesday over all parts of the country. There will be some outbreaks of rain over much of Scotland with the winds here reaching gale force. Some more persistent rain across western facing Scottish slopes. Northwest England and Northern Ireland could have low cloud and drizzle too, and it will be breezy. For northeast England, the Midlands, southern England and much of Wales the day will be rather breezy with plenty of cloud. However, a few bright spells may appear, especially to the east. Western coasts of Wales and southwest England cloud be troubled by low cloud and some spots of drizzle. Highs around 7 to 9C.
Thursday
Another cloudy day for many northern and western areas, damp too. Outbreaks of drizzle on coasts, and some mist and fog there as well. For more inland areas we should find some bright spells coming through as the day progresses, with some sunny periods developing. Increasing winds for Ireland and western Scotland where the rain turns heavier by the end of the day. Highs at 9 to 12C.
