Wednesday
No so cold today as a warm front crosses northern Britain. This will give a good deal of low cloud to Scotland, northern England and North Wales. Here expect some rain and drizzle, this very light in the south but some heavy spells are likely across northern Scotland where it will be quite a windy day. For the rest of England and Wales it's a dry but cold and frosty morning with sunny spells. Continued dry with hazy sunny spells during the afternoon. highs of 5 to 7C in the north and 7 to 10C in the south.

Wednesday Night
Not much change is expected across the United Kingdom into the evening and night with outbreaks of rain and drizzle affecting mainly the northern half of Britain from North Wales, northern England into Scotland. Again this will be heavy for northern Scotland. Central and southern England remain dry and with more cloud tonight it won't be as cold with no frost likely. Lows at 6 to 9C.

Thursday
Overcast, damp and breezy today with outbreaks of rain and drizzle across Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England. This should clear northern England in the afternoon but staying cloudy. To the south it's a dry day with morning cloud breaking to some hazy sunshine. A dry evening across East Anglia, the East Midlands and the south of England. Wet and windy elsewhere with heavy rain and gusty winds. This rain spreads into southern England overnight and clears to showers across Scotland. Expect highs of 8 to 13C north to south.

Friday
Breezy and colder today. A fine, sunny, dry morning to come across eastern England and Scotland. A number of showers will affect western areas with these wintry over the hills of northern Scotland. In the afternoon a band of heavier rain spread into Scotland with further showers to come across Wales and western parts of England. Eastern and south east England will remain dry with the best of the sunshine. Rain spills south into all areas tonight clearing to showers across Scotland, many wintry in nature. Expect highs of 3 to 8C.
