Thursday
Cloudy for most of the country on Thursday morning. Some spells of drizzle are likely to be affecting much of Scotland, northwest England, Ireland and parts of west Wales. Away from these places it should be drier, although still with plenty of cloud, but some brighter spells breaking through that cloud too. Into the afternoon little changes with most of England, Wales and eastern Scotland having cloud, which will break to give some bright spells, especially through the Midlands, northeast and southeast England. Western coasts of Scotland and Ireland always at risk of some drizzle, and the winds increasing here later too. Temperatures rising to 9C in Scotland, 13C in any sunshine over southern England.

Thursday Night
Increasing winds bringing some more persistent rain to Scotland and Ireland during the first part of tonight, this rain heavy at times. Most of England, Wales and eastern Scotland starting the night dry, although the winds increasing to the west by midnight. Through the early hours the rain band crosses the rest of Scotland, northern England, Wales, southwest England and the Midlands, reaching East Anglia and the southeast by dawn. Becoming windy as the rain arrives. Western Ireland and the whole of Scotland then become cooler with heavy showers, these turning wintry on the hills, remaining windy here too. Temperatures around 2C in Northern Ireland by the end of the night, nearer 7C in southeast England.

Friday
Rain in southeast England at first will be clearing away eastwards. Brighter skies follow through the Midlands and parts of southwest England, but it won't be long before heavy showers move through northern England, Wales and the southwest. The heaviest and most frequent of the showers across Scotland and Ireland where they could merge to longer spells of rain at times. The afternoon sees sunny spells and scattered showers away from western coasts, with the southeast of England staying mainly dry. Heavier showers on western coasts, especially Scotland and Ireland. Breezy everywhere with strong winds in the north. Temperatures at 10C in southeast England, 7C in central Scotland.

Saturday
A windy, cool day is likely for Saturday. Low pressure centred to the northwest of Scotland is expected to be driving a band of rain through Scotland and Ireland. This band of rain then passing into England and Wales through the afternoon, some of it heavy at times. Showers follow to Ireland and Scotland, with a strong to gale force northwest wind. The showers turn wintry over the hills of Scotland. More southeastern parts of England may stay dry until evening, although will be remaining windy. High around 7 to 9C.
