Friday
Cloudy and blustery with outbreaks of rain over East Anglia and southeast England early this morning. This will be clearing into the Continent quickly. Much brighter and drier weather for much of England and Wales, the winds lighter here for a time too, before picking up gain later. For Scotland and Northern Ireland it will not be long before showers merge to more persistent periods of rain with the winds picking up to gale force. This afternoon sees further spells of rain over Scotland, these drifting into the far north of England. Some showers too for southern Ireland and Wales, a few of them heavy, but more isolated showers inland. Temperatures at 8C in southeast England, 5C in western Scotland.

Friday Night
Further heavy showers this evening over much of Scotland and Ireland this evening, with a few too for northwest England and Wales. For the rest of England and Wales it should stay drier with some clear spells. Cloud increases through the early hours from the west bringing more rain into Ireland. The rain then into Scotland through the early hours with cloud increasing through Wales and the far southwest of England bringing rain here. Winds increasing everywhere to become a fresh to strong southwesterly with gales at times over Ireland and Scotland. Lows near 3 to 5C.

Saturday
A wet and windy day for many of us on Saturday. The rain through many northern and western areas in the morning, some of this heavy. Patchier rain across southern and eastern England, and some areas may stay dry. By Saturday afternoon the heavier rain is through northern England, the Midlands, Wales and southwest England, the winds reaching gale force in places. Heavy showers will be following to western Scotland and Ireland, some of them becoming thundery and wintry. A cool day with highs at 6 to 9C.

Sunday
A cool day on Sunday. Bands of showers will be moving eastwards through the country, these showers wintry at times. As the showers cross Scotland and northern England there could be short periods of blizzard conditions on the hills. Later in the day we could find the showers becoming very isolated across Wales and western England, although heavy showers continuing through Scotland. Later in the day thickening cloud will be bringing rain to western Ireland. Highs around 5 to 8C.
