Saturday
A wet, windy morning across all parts of the United Kingdom this morning but this will be replaced by sunshine and heavy showers across Northern Ireland and north west Scotland before afternoon. Gales are expected across western coasts. The occasional heavy rain clears northern England and Wales to showers and sunny spells during the afternoon but lingers across central and southern areas. Heavy showers to affect Scotland and Northern Ireland as well and still quite windy but a milder day. Expect highs of 5 to 9C in the north and 10 to 12C in the south.
Saturday Night
Rain persists across East and the south east of England this evening slowly clearing during the night. Continued breezy with further showers to come across most areas in the evening then overnight they tend to become confined mainly to western parts of Scotland, Wales and England. Lows at 3 to 5C for Scotland, 5 to 9C for England and Wales.
Sunday
The calm before the storm. A dry, sunny morning for central and eastern parts of England and Scotland while a number of showers are expected in the west. These will be locally heavy and develop more widely in most areas in the afternoon. Some sunshine to come as well in between showers. Rain spreads into Northern Ireland and south west England this evening and becomes heavy sweeping into all parts overnight. Strong and potentially damaging winds are expected to also sweep in across Northern Ireland then down into Wales and central and southern England with gusts perhaps in excess of 80 mph around exposed western coasts. Expect highs of 5 to 11C north to south.
Monday
By Monday morning the strongest winds now should be along the channel and across south east England with severe gales likely. Still wet for most places with heavy rain which turns to snow across northern Scotland. In the afternoon the heavy rain lingers across England and Wales with showers across the north and again will be wintry over high ground. Gales are expected into the evening and night as the winds switch around to the north west so turning colder and staying damp with more rain for most areas. Expect highs of 3 to 8C.
