Heavy snow risk tonight Windy and very cold seiten=4 abk=focus
Saturday
Very windy with gales across eastern parts of England and North Wales this morning. Lots of showers to come across the United Kingdom through out the course of the day, most of these will be wintry in nature with some heavy ones for Scotland and northern England. In the afternoon these may be more of sleet across central and southern England with rain showers for south west England. With the strong winds, temporary blizzards are possible in heavier snow showers in the north. Feeling bitterly cold in those strong north to north east winds with highs of 3 to 6C north to south.
Saturday Night
It becomes less windy this evening with an area of heavy snow to affect central and eastern Scotland with rain across Northern Ireland. Apart from a few wintry showers in the west, the rest of England and Wales will be dry in the main. Overnight we'll see that heavy snow in the north east sweeping south across north east England with snow also expected for eastern Wales and then the Midlands. Typical totals of 3-6cm are possible at low levels with 10-15cm over high ground. Expect lows at 0 to -4C but 3 to 5C across Northern Ireland and the West Country.
Easter Sunday
Outbreaks of heavy snow across East Anglia with lighter snow across the south Midlands will move south clearing south east England early this afternoon. Rather breezy and there will still be a number of wintry showers to come through the day for much of the United Kingdom interspersed with, dry, sunny spells. For Northern Ireland it looks like some light rain to come during the day. Still quite a few snow showers to come from North Wales into north west England and Scotland tonight. For the rest of England it's a very cold night with widespread ice possible on untreated roads and pavement along with a hard frost. Highs of just 2 to 4C but 10C in the south west.
Monday
As an area of rain moves into south west England and southern Wales is forecast to turn to snow across North Wales, The Midlands and parts of southern England. Most places are at risk of snow showers into the afternoon with longer spells of snow in the south. Confidence at the moment is not very high. Snow showers will retreat to western and eastern coasts during the night with a hard freeze by morning. Highs today of 2 to 5C.
