Tuesday
A very cold and frosty morning across much of Britain. Some patchy rain though this morning for Wales and Cornwall with heavy snow showers across northern Scotland. Otherwise a dry morning with sunny spells. In the afternoon still some snow to come across the north of Scotland with some drizzly rain now for Northern Ireland and the West Country. The bulk of England, Wales and southern Scotland looks to stay fair, dry and bright with sunny spells. Look for highs of 5 to 10C but just 1C in northern Scotland.

Tuesday Night
This evening outbreaks of light, rain and drizzle will spread across much of Wales and linger across south west England and Northern Ireland. This then moves into central and southern England, becoming heavier across Wales and Northern Ireland. Staying dry and cold for northern England and Scotland with a sharp frost. Expect lows at 0 to -4C but 3 to 5C across Northern Ireland and the south of England, perhaps as low as -9C across parts of northern Scotland.

Wednesday
Outbreaks of persistent rain remain across Northern Ireland, Wales and central and southern England this morning and as this tracks north east into northern England, snow is likely over the Pennines and Cambrian Fells. Continued dry for Scotland with the best of the sunshine in the north. Later the rain turns more to showers in the far south of England. Highs of just 2 to 4C but 10C in the south west. Dry tonight in the far south of England with snow forecast across Scotland and rain for Northern Ireland, Wales and the rest of England. Highs at 3 to 10C.

Thursday
Perhaps a dry morning across Northern Ireland, Wales and south west England. Elsewhere expect sporadic outbreaks of patchy rain and drizzle though more snow to come for northern Scotland. Most places will be cloudy and wet with spells of rain through the afternoon and this looks heaviest across Wales and Cumbria with snow over the Highlands. It remains wet across England and Wales but colder and drier for Scotland with clear spells and a few showers in the west. Highs today of 5 to 11C.
