Wednesday
Outbreaks of heavy rain will affect Wales and the West Country this morning with showers for Northern Ireland and snow over the hills of northern Scotland. Dry to the east with some bright spells then cloudy. In the afternoon it should stay dry, albeit cloudy across East Anglia as a band of heavier rain in the west moves into most remaining parts of Britain. Again this will fall as snow across a colder northern Scotland. As we go through the afternoon the rain clears to sunnier spells and showers across western Wales and south west England. Look for highs of 6 to 9C but 2 to 3C in northern Scotland.
Wednesday Night
Across western Britain a drier evening to come with just a few coastal showers while it stays wet with spells of rain in the east. Eventually the rain will clear all but East Anglia and the south east by the end of the night with still a few showers around western coasts. Where skies are clear expect a frost across central areas. Expect lows at 0 to -2C but 5 to 6C across south east England and East Anglia.
Thursday
The last of the rain soon clears East Anglia but it may linger across Kent well into the afternoon. Elsewhere it's a bright, drier day with some sunshine and scattered showers. Most of these will be across central areas with south west England having a fine, sunny afternoon. Mostly a dry evening but rain in the west is to sweep into most places overnight and it will be heavy across western Britain with some snow over the Highlands. Highs at 6 to 9C.
Friday
Rather windy and wet for much of the United Kingdom with spells of heavy rain this morning. Later this clears to showers in the west. We'll see the rain moving away from eastern areas this afternoon then mainly dry across eastern parts of England and Scotland. A number of showers will affect Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland, England and Wales. Scattered showers will persist around western coasts tonight but dry and clear elsewhere with a pockets of frost in sheltered locations. Highs today of 5 to 12C north to south.
