Thursday
A lot of cloud across Scotland, northern and eastern parts of England this morning with some patchy bits of rain with snow over the Highlands. A cold start elsewhere with patchy frost at first otherwise mainly dry with some sunshine. Some good sunny spells to come throughout the course of the afternoon for most places but there will be a scattering of mainly light showers though it's dry across The West Country, Northern Ireland and western Wales. Look for highs of 8 to 12C for most places.

Thursday Night
Eastern and central parts of Scotland and England will be fine and dry. Outbreaks of rain will spread into Northern Ireland, Wales and western parts of Scotland and England. Overnight the rain becomes heavy as it sweeps into all areas which will fall as snow across northern Scotland. The winds will become strong in the west with gusts to gale force by morning. Expect lows at 1 to 4C across Scotland, 5 to 9C across England and Wales.

Friday
Rather windy and wet for much of the United Kingdom with spells of heavy rain this morning. Later this clears to showers in the west. We'll see the rain moving away from eastern areas this afternoon then mainly dry across eastern parts of England and Scotland. A number of showers will affect Northern Ireland and western parts of Scotland, England and Wales. Scattered showers will persist around western coasts tonight but dry and clear. Highs today of 6 to 12C north to south.

Saturday
Still quite windy across the United Kingdom. An area of locally heavy rain spreads into Northern Ireland, southern Scotland, northern England, Wales and the West Country this morning. A dry morning though for East Anglia and south east England. Here it stays dry but cloudy but the rest of Britain is to remain very wet and windy. As the rain clears away from eastern areas this evening, showers will affect western coasts. Highs today of 7 to 11C.
