Heavy showers developing Gales and rain tonight seiten=4 abk=focus
Monday
For north east England along with East Anglia and Kent, it's a mainly dry, bright morning with sunny spells. Showers in the west are expected to develop quite widely through the morning and the afternoon. In these showers there is also the risk of a rumble of thunder across England, Wales and southern Scotland. Later western areas will see the showers wane. For northern Scotland it will be windier with a risk of more steady rain. Just the odd shower for Northern Ireland today but dry in the main with sunnier spells. Look for highs of 8 to 10C in the north and 10 to 13C for the south.
Monday Night
This evening the winds will freshen as cloud and rain sweeps in across all but East Anglia and the south east of England. Some heavy bursts will affect Wales and north west England with gales around western coasts. This leads to a windy, wet night for most areas but the rain in the west will be replaced by clear spells and showers. Expect lows at 5 to 8C.
Tuesday
Windy today and after a wet start across central and eastern parts of England, the heavy rain clears away by the afternoon. In the west expect a day of sunny spells and occasional, heavy blustery showers and these will feed into eastern areas as well in the afternoon. Gales will continue around western coasts. The winds will be moderating through the evening and night but staying windy across eastern Scotland and north east England. Still quite a few showers to come as well here with a few near western coasts of Wales and northern England. Highs today of 8 to 12C.
Wednesday
Breezy around North Sea coasts today with variable cloud and the odd shower. Some rain and drizzle is expected across western parts of Wales into the Irish Sea and across north west England and north west Scotland. Elsewhere a fair, dry and bright day with good sunny spells developing during the day. Overnight more cloud to come for northern Britain with some light, drizzly rain in the north west. Dry and with clear skies and light winds, it will turn misty across England and Wales with some locally dense fog patches. Highs today of 7 to 10C in the north, 10 to 14C in the south.
