Friday
Lots of cloud around to start the day over most of southern England, Wales and southern Ireland. There will be some mist patches too, with fog patches in a few areas. These will be clearing and then the morning will be dry. The cloud should break with some sunny spells coming through, the best of these in south Wales and southwest England. A band of cloud and a few spots of rain will be spreading southwards associated with the cold front through northern England and Northern Ireland. A brighter morning across Scotland with some showers in the north and west, these heavy at times and turning increasingly wintry, with the chance of some more persistent rain and sleet i the far northwest by the evening. A very mild day again in the south in any sunshine with highs at 18C, cooler in northern Scotland at 10C.

Friday Night
A band of cloud and patchy rain moving south through Wales and the rest of England overnight, introducing colder weather to all places by the morning. It should become drier across much of Ireland and northern England as well as southern Scotland with a widespread frost forming. Thicker cloud and some wintry showers affecting Scotland, those showers becoming heavier and more persistent through the early hours of Saturday morning. Lows at 1 to 4C.

Saturday
A cold day over the whole of the UK and Ireland. Mainly cloudy with showers for much of Scotland, the most frequent of these down eastern coasts where they will become increasingly wintry. More showers for northeast England and East Anglia. Further west there will be a few showers over Wales but most places should be dry here. There will be some bright spells in the west, but plenty of cloud around too. Temperatures at 4C in northern Scotland, 9C in southern England.

Sunday
A cold night into Sunday morning with a widespread frost inland. The day itself is expected to be bitterly cold. Frequent snow showers affecting Scotland, bringing blizzard conditions here. There will be snow showers down the eastern coasts of England too, and the threat of more persistent snow at times perhaps leading to an accumulation here and there. Further snow showers to the west, most of them light over Wales and northwest England. The more persistent snow affecting western Scotland. Less snow showers through the Midlands and central southern England where there will be some sunny spells. Temperatures at 3C in northern Scotland, 6C in southern England.
