Cold, windy & damp Little change for the weekend seiten=4 abk=focus
Friday
A cloudy, cold, breezy and damp start to the day across much of the country. The most persistent of any rain will be across southern parts of England where it will be misty too. More patchy rain elsewhere, especially through southern Wales and northeast England. Western parts of Scotland should start the day brighter with some sunny spells. For the afternoon little change is expected. It will be staying windy in a strong easterly, and further spells of rain are likely across much of England, Wales and Ireland. Scotland should be drier, with sunny spells to the west and north. Temperatures struggling to between 8 and 10C, and feeling much colder in the wind.
Friday Night
Little change through Friday night across much of the country. There will still be a strong easterly wind blowing across much of England and Wales. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle, most of it light, across these areas too, this extending into southern Ireland. More persistent rain may affect the Channel and southern coasts of England, where it could turn heavy. Drier weather over the far north of England and Scotland. Lows nearer 3 to 6C.
Saturday
Breezy and cold again through Saturday for much of England, Wales and Ireland. There will be some outbreaks of rain in England, Wales and Ireland. However, later there may be some brighter spells coming through for a time through southern counties of England, ahead of heavy showers breaking out. Feeling cold again in the wind, although this easing later. For the far north of England and Scotland the day should be better with sunny spells here, the best of them to the west. Temperatures at 7 to 9C at best.
Sunday
Cloudy and damp through much of southern Ireland, Wales, the Midlands and parts of northern England. Feeling cold again in the strong east to northeast wind. Another fine day to come over western and northern Scotland with some good spells of sunshine here. Bright too in the far south. Heavy showers will be forming here, although these should be fairly well scattered. Temperatures around 7C on the coasts of northeast England, 12C in the southwest.
