Friday
Apart from scatted showers across northern parts of Scotland, it looks fine and dry across much of the United Kingdom with good spells of sunshine though it will turn cloudy across the south west of England. In the afternoon outbreaks of rain will move into Cornwall and Devon and the far south west of Wales with some heavy showers for northern Scotland. For the rest of Britain it will remain fine and dry with sunny intervals. Look for highs of 16 to 20C in the north and 20 to 23C in the south.

Friday Night
It becomes quite windy and wet across south west England and Wales with outbreaks of heavy rain this evening. Elsewhere it's a dry evening with some sunshine to end the day. Overnight the rain spreads into much of England and into Northern Ireland with gales around the coasts in the south west. Continued dry tonight across Scotland. Expect lows of 9 to 15C.

Saturday
A wet and windy morning with outbreaks of heavy rain for much of England and Wales and this moves into southern Scotland this morning and into all of Scotland by the afternoon. The rain across central and southern England and Wales will be replaced by heavy, blustery showers and sunnier spells. The winds will be strong around western coasts with gusts of 50 to 60 mph possible. The winds persist into the evening and night and most places will see some heavy showers or longer spells of rain. Highs of 14 to 21C.

Sunday
Continued windy today and this morning there will be outbreaks of steady rain across Wales and central and southern England. Elsewhere expect heavy showers with a risk of thunder. In the afternoon the persistent rain moves into northern England with more heavy showers to follow into the south. Through the evening and night all areas will have further spells of rain or some heavy showers. Highs of 14 to 18C.
